Volkswagen, one of the biggest players in China's swelling car market, chose Beijing to unveil its latest E-Bugster - a good look at the forthcoming convertible version of the Beetle. We saw the E-Bugster in tin-top form at the 2012 Detroit auto show; now they've gone and chopped the top fully for Beijing. It's a two-seater speedster version of the Beetle hatch, driven by an 85kW electric drive system; essentially, the powertrain of this car is what will underpin the 2013 Blue-e-motion electric Golf.
Range Rover Grand Evoque planned - a stretched Evoque
Land Rover are considering plans for a stretched Range Rover Evoque – the Grand Evoque or Evoque XL – to fit between the Evoque and RRS. Although it seemed to take forever to turn the Land Rover LRX in to the Range Rover Evoque, the Evoque has certainly had a real impact on the car market since it finally arrived this year. While the streamlined, electric two-seat Aptera 2e may be one of the most efficient cars ever designed, the process of getting it to market is becoming a little less efficient. Original plans had the 2e going on sale this year, but the company said on Wednesday that the car will be available to consumers starting in 2010. No specific date was set.
